Bubble curtains

An air wall that protects life underwater
Bubble curtains are a simple but effective technology that uses air bubbles to create a vertical “wall” in the water. When bursting underwater, the bubbles reduce pressure waves before they reach fish and marine mammals. Studies have shown that a well-placed bubble curtain can reduce noise by up to 32 decibels – a significant reduction that halves the perceived noise. In addition, the bubbles create an upward current that can stop particles from drifting away, which is useful for marine construction work.
