Basic course Oil spill response:

The goal of the course is to provide basic competence to personnel who will participate operationally in actions against acute pollution.

After completing the course, participants will have gained basic knowledge about handling acute pollution, be able to act in accordance with current HSE regulations during an action against acute pollution. Participants will also have gained basic knowledge about organization, division of tasks, responsibility and authority within emergency preparedness against acute pollution in Norway.

Target group

The target group for the course is personnel who need basic competence in handling acute pollution.

Course in Team Management:

Oljevernbredskapskurs-Novumare

The aim of the course is to qualify participants to take on the role of team leader during emergency response operations against acute pollution along the coast and shoreline. After completing the course, participants should be able to organize and lead their own personnel, as well as make tactical decisions regarding the deployment and use of assigned resources.

Target Group

The course is intended for personnel who have, or are expected to take on, the role of team leader in emergency response operations against acute pollution along the coast and shoreline.

Prerequisites

Participants must have completed a basic course in handling acute pollution or possess equivalent competence.

Course in Incident Management/Emergency Management:

The aim of the course is to qualify participants to be able to fill the role of incident manager in actions against acute pollution on the coast and on the beach. After completing the course, participants should be able to organize and lead personnel at the incident site, be able to manage the tactical disposition and use of resources at the incident site, be able to contribute to achieving the environmental goals of the action.

 

Target group

The target group for the course is personnel who have or are intended to have a role as incident commander in actions against acute pollution on the coast and on the beach.

 

Prior knowledge

Participants in the course must have completed a team leader course for the coast and beach or have equivalent competence.

The aim of the course is to qualify participants to fill the role of action leader or member of the action management staff in actions against acute pollution. After completing the course, participants should be able to lead or participate in the management of actions against acute pollution and be able to assist the responsible leader of the action in providing a basis for making the right decisions, implementing measures and following up on these.

 

Target group

The target group for the course is personnel who have or are intended to have a role in the action management staff in actions against acute pollution. The course will also be suitable for personnel who are intended to be responsible for damage site management to familiarize them with the tasks and functions of the action management.

 

Prior knowledge

Participants in the course must have completed courses in team management and incident management or have equivalent competence.

Course in Action Management:

The aim of the course is to qualify participants to fill the role of action leader or member of the action management staff in actions against acute pollution. ICS100 Introduction to ICS kurs:

Oljevernbredskapskurs-Novumare

The aim of the course is to introduce the Incident Command System and provide participants with the foundation for further ICS training. The participant is introduced to an effective system for command, control and coordination of response at a disaster scene.

 

ICS is recognized as a flexible and scalable "all-hazard" system, providing a common framework for response suitable for any size of incident.

 

This course is the first in a series of ICS training courses and will be of particular interest to first-line responders and those in a scene support role within an emergency response center.

 

Target group

The target group is first-line responders and those who have a support role at the scene of an emergency.

 

Prior knowledge

No

ICS200 Basic Incident Command System course:

Oljevernbredskapskurs-Novumare

The aim of the course is to provide participants with the tools to work effectively and appropriately during an incident. The course focuses on the management of resources and builds on the ICS100 course. Participants will gain deeper learning in ICS and the principles of handling small to medium-sized incidents using ICS.

 

Target group

Personnel intended for an advisory or supervisory role during an incident.

 

Prior knowledge

Completed ICS-100.

ICS300 Intermediate Incident Command System course:

Oljevernbredskapskurs-Novumare

The course provides a thorough insight and understanding of ICS, including the tools, practices and procedures available to manage moderate to major incidents. Building on ICS-100 and -200, this course ensures that participants understand the fundamental ICS concepts that allow an emergency response organization to expand and contract as needed – all to adapt to the incident and maintain effectiveness.

 

Specific course topics:

Roles and responsibilities, leadership, first response, staffing and organization, interaction with employees and other stakeholders, interaction at management level, meetings, briefings and support activities, preparation and approval of IAP (action plan), orders and order flow, implementation of plan and assessment of progress, external coordination and demobilization.

 

Target group

Personnel will have a supervisory role and/or responsibility in major incidents. Such as personnel in command or emergency response staff, action leaders, task force leaders, team leaders, advisors and other relevant senior personnel.

 

Prior knowledge (recommended)

Completed ICS-100 and 200.

Ice and cold course:

The goal of the course is to prepare participants for response to acute pollution in cold climates. Upon completion of the course, participants will have gained expertise in techniques and methods that can be used to limit the spread and remove pollution from frozen water, which is on, in or under ice, and sea.

 

Target group

The target group is personnel who are intended to play a role in efforts against acute pollution in cold climates, both in the field or on staff.

 

Prior knowledge

Participants in the course must have completed a basic course in handling acute pollution or have equivalent competence.

Clean Coast:

Oljevernbredskapskurs-Novumare

The aim of the course is to provide members of the voluntary oil spill response team with basic competence in handling acute pollution. This response team is an important resource for municipal, state and private emergency response in the event of a major acute pollution incident.

 

Target group

The course recruits participants from voluntary organizations. The requirement is that participants are over 18 years old and able to contribute to beach cleanups over time.

NovuMare is proud to be accredited as an International OSR Course Provider by the Nautical Institute. Our training and courses cover the requirements of the IMO OPRC Convention (from Level 1 First Responder via Level 2 On-Scene Commander to Level 3 Incident Commanders and Senior Management).

Akkreditering-Novumare

We have a cooperation agreement with the Norwegian Coastal Administration on the use of the "National Curriculum for Training in Handling Acute Pollution".
